The Natural Approach learning model was pioneered in 1976 with the name of
the Natural Approach, and introduced in 1977 by Tracy D. Terrell a linguist and
teacher of Spanish at California University.
This natural learning model is a model as well as methods of language
teaching which emphasizes the aspects of students' understanding and meaningful
communication aspects. It aims to encourage naturalistic language acquisition
in the classroom, and for this purpose emphasizes communication, and places a
decrease in the importance of the study of grammar conscious and explicit error
correction students. Efforts are also made to make the learning environment
as stress-free as possible. The purpose of a natural approach is to develop
communication skills, and is primarily intended for use with early learners. It
is presented as a set of principles that can be applied to a variety of
learners and teaching situations.
