Self Directed Learning (SDL) is a learning process that is carried out at the initiative of the individual. In this case, the planning, implementation and assessment of the learning experience that has been undertaken is done by the concerned. While teacher / lecturer only acts as a facilitator, who provide direction, guidance, confirmation of the progress of learners.
This method aims to encourage students to be responsible for thinking and their actions.
Principle is used in self-directed learning are:
a. Experience is a very useful learning resource.
b. Readiness to learn is an early stage become independent learners.
c. Learners more interested in learning from the problems instead of learning material in the book.
